At the end of September the world premiere of 'Metallica: Through the Never' in the USA, the long-awaited 3D feature film by the legendary Californian heavy metal band. The film has been filmed during concerts offered by Metallica in the cities Vancouver and Edmonton (Canada) in 2012. According to the members of the band themselves, their production demanded a spectacular scenic display, which had a specially built stage for the 3D filming of the film, and which required more than twenty-four cameras taking action simultaneously.
According to the drummer of the group, Lars Ulrich, the film, in addition to the concert, offers a story that tells the adventure of Trip, a young technical assistant who suddenly becomes the protagonist of a surreal adventure. Ulrich confessed that the story is loosely based on a novel called 'The Alchemist' and adds: "It's a story about a journey, about being involved in unexpected situations, resisting adversity, how you react and how you fight".
The original soundtrack of the film that accompanies this premiere will be edited by Universal Music under the label Blackened Recordings (the band's record company) and will contain a two-disc set that is already available for pre-order on iTunes, both the physical and digital versions. This double album will be on sale worldwide from September 24th. 'Metallica: Through the Never' will be released in Latin America and Spain during the first weeks of October.
