Harvest of miracles

Easter was the perfect setting to premiere "The Reaping", known in Spanish as "La Cosecha" in some parts, and "Test of faith" in others, and it was definitely not a bad idea. Many people looking for some distraction in those holy days, they chose it.
The film begins in a very attractive way, which confronts fans and defectors, about what is the reality behind the events that Katherine (Hilary Swank) investigates, a former Protestant pastor, now turned into a “destroyer of miracles”.
Little by little, we are presented with the first casualties of the film. As a “surprise”, it turns out that the researcher has behind a story that forced her to become an atheist when she lost her daughter and her husband sacrificed by a tribe in Sudan. This element contributes to the disbelief of the character, but it still seems corny to me, when without it, the story would have happened anyway.
But the interesting thing comes when a new mission appears to Katherine, to investigate the events in a practically unknown town, in which a river bed turns like blood, and where later events very similar to the ten plagues of Egypt.
The researcher tries to find a scientific solution to the matter and more and more setbacks are presented to her that make her doubt.
Very good special effects, and also the acting. The character created for Annasophia Robb (Loren, in the film), the girl who is apparently guilty that these plagues have reached the town, fits like a glove, also Swank (of course, winner of two Oscars for best actress) does a good job.
The only thing lacking in the film is the ending, where everything that they had previously managed to elevate collapses. Another good movie with a bad ending, probably after a second part.
My recomendation: The explanation of how the 10 plagues of Egypt occurred from a scientific point of view, was enough for me.
