The term 'rock and roll' is not commonly associated with the music of ABBA.
However Benny andersson, its pianist and vocalist, thinks it was about time this Nordic group was admitted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame… And so it will be in a few days.
"I take it as a true honor. We were and are something like a solid pop group, and we all know that there is a marked difference between pop and rock 'n' roll ... without a doubt.
Being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame takes us totally by surprise, we never really believed it was possible.
On the other hand, there are a lot of pop artists and bands that are already in it… so everything is fine, and I think it was about time. Finally, the decision has not been made by us".
