More than four decades ago, the British rock group Deep Purple performed for the first time in Japan and recorded the album live 'Made in Japan', a record work that presented the mythical concerts in the Asian country of what would be his most successful record production 'Machine Head' (1972), a jewel considered one of the greatest hard rock influences of the time and an album full of classics: 'Smoke on the Water', 'Highway Star' or 'Lazy'.
Originally 'Made in Japan' was released as a double album, and was recorded during the two concerts that Deep Purple offered during August 1972 at the Festival Hall in the Japanese city of Osaka. This album went on sale in December 1972 in the United Kingdom and in April 1973 in the United States, achieving significant commercial success and a favorable response from specialized critics.
With several months of delay since its initial announcement (August 2013), finally Universal Music has decided to commemorate this 40th anniversary of those historic concerts with the reissue of this album live, with a deluxe edition full of interesting extras that will go on sale next May. 'Made in Japan' will be released in different formats that include a four-CD edition, a DVD, a book and a 7-inch vinyl, as well as a 9-LP edition. This album can also be downloaded in digital format and the standard version will also be relaunched.
