At the beginning of the month we already advance you brushstrokes of the Spanish cinema that we will see in 2013 and today we advance you a little more about 'Caníbal', the new film by Manuel Martin Cuenca ('Bad seasons', 'The weakness of the Bolshevik'), whose script is also written by the director and Alejandro Hernández.
En 'Cannibal', Anthony of the Tower ('Gordos'), which has two Goya nominations (one of them the Goya for Best Actor for his role in 'Group 7'), will play the cannibal tailor and Olimpia Melinte and Alfonsa Rosso ('Back', 'The time between seams') will complete the cast.
In 'Cannibal', Carlos is the most prestigious tailor in Granada and leads a double life: he murders women and feeds on them. Everything changes when he meets Nina, a young Romanian twin sister of one of his victims and falls in love with her. A somewhat sinister synopsis in the Andalusian character cousin, by the effort of Martín Cuenca. Moreover, according to the Almeria director, 'Caníbal' "aims to build a deeply Andalusian cinema, not only made by Andalusians but capable of inventing new stories through the enormous cultural universe of our land."
The filming of 'Caníbal' will last for a couple of months and will run between Sierra Nevada, Granada capital, Motril or Güejar Sierra, among other locations. The film will be produced by Loma Blanca and MOD Producciones, in co-production with Libra Films (Romania), CTB Film Company LTD (Russia) and Luminor (France)
