For more than four decades 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' John Lennon sounds a lot during the holiday season. This anti-war song was composed by Lennon with Yoko Ono and recorded for the first time in 1971. This year the exBeatle's widow decided to cover this Christmas classic in a new version along with The Flaming Lips. This song will be part of the compilation album called 'All is Bright', which will contain a total of 40 Christmas songs and which was released by the Amazon online store last Friday (21).
The album All is Bright in addition to including classic material from Yoko Ono It also presents unreleased songs, an album that has had the collaboration of different figures such as The Tom Tom Club, The Flaming Lips, Amanda Palmer, Brandi Carlile, Jessie Baylin, Liz Phair, Heartless Bastards, Lucinda Williams and many more.
In addition to the launch of this Christmas compilation, Amazon also announced that it will soon also publish a documentary in video format that compiles the recording process of all is bright, which includes different conversations from most of the artists who have participated in the album, such as live performances of the songs.
