'Xscape' to be Michael Jackson's new posthumous album

Xscape Michael Jackson May

New unreleased songs from the 'King of Pop' will be released on a new album in a few weeks as announced by the record company Epic Records last Monday (31). The new album will go on sale on May 13 under the name of 'Xscape' and will contain eight unreleased songs edited in physical and digital format. This project has been entirely directed by the president of Epic Records, LA Reid, who selected the songs that were later worked on by a team of select producers, whose task was to achieve a more current sound.

Timbaland has been the main producer of the project, and worked alongside production figures such as Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome J-Roc Harmon and Jackson's executor, John McClain, according to the statement. LAReid was appointed by Jackson's heirs to have unlimited access to the King of Pop's recordings. The Epic executive stated in the press release that he believes they have the "Seriousness, depth and scope to engage creatively with Jackson's work".

'Xscape' was written by Michael Jackson and Jerkins, and originally produced by both. The title track, 'Xscape', is one of the songs on the album that the producer had recorded in the studio with Michael. The deluxe version of 'Xscape' will also come with an extra disc with the original recordings as recorded in life by the popular singer. Both the standard version and the deluxe version, both can already be reserved in the iTunes online store.
