Wye oak an indie folk rock duo from Baltimore, Maryland, USA. It is made up of Andy Stack (drums, keyboards) and Jenn Wasner (vocals, guitar). They describe their music as "indie-influenced folk with hints of noise and dream pop."
They were formed in 2006 and the name refers to an ancient tree from Maryland. They released their first album 'If Children' in 2007 and the second 'The Knot' in 2009. Their latest work is'Civilian', released in March 2011 via Merge Records.
