Who will be the new Barbarella?

Barbarella

SEven sounding names for one of the most curious roles in the world of cinema, that of the protagonist of the future project by Dino De Laurentiis. This is the remake of Barbarella (remember that he was already responsible for the first version in addition to other titles as mythical as Conan, Flash Gordon or the Hannibal saga), the film based on the mythical comic book character that catapulted Jane Fonda to stardom and turned it into an erotic myth of the sixties. Now, the two actresses who sound the most to give life to the heroine in the new version are the explosive Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst, current for the premiere of Spiderman 3.

Since the project came to light, rumors about the actress in charge of starring in it have not stopped appearing. First the name of the wayward Lindsay Lohan came to the fore, later it was Drew Barrymore and even Angelina Jolie was cast in the role. The penultimate was an information published by the Daily Press in which it was assured that Kate Beckinsale, the protagonist of Underworld, was first on the list to be the explosive protagonist of Barbarella.

But the actress has emphatically dismissed herself from the project, and after this loss, the producer has set his eyes on the other two stars: Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst. But the first one has a more than tight schedule and not affordable fees and the second has already said that it is not interested in the project because there is a lot of meat to be taught (who would say it by looking at the photo below). The third option, and the one with the most possibilities, is that of Erica Durance (better known for being Lois Lane in Smallville, be careful, not to be confused with Kristin Kreuk who is Lana Lang).

We will finally see who stars in the new film version, whose premiere is scheduled for 2009, of this sensual guardian of peace in the universe who created the French Jean-Claude Forest back in 1962. What is not known is who are the candidates to direct the film, that for the sake of the actress who I finally agree to play Barbarella, I hope he doesn't look like Roger Vadim.
