The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, and chronicles the story of a group of hired gunmen to give protection to a Mexican people.
This is one of those "remakes" that hit the big screen. The premiere is scheduled for next September 30.
The cast It is headed by Denzel Washington Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy 2). Joining them will be Haley Bennett, Vincent D'Onofrio (Daredevil), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Cake), Martin Sensmeier (Salem) and Byung-Hun Lee (Terminator: Genesis).
In the words of the producers, they are gunmen with whom we would all like to be, and of course, have their protection. let's remember John Sturges' classic from 1960, where actors of the stature of Steve McQueen or Yul Brynner were part of the group of men hired to defend a Mexican town besieged by bandits.
The original script is based on the film by Akira Kurosawa, "The Seven Samurai". Redoing this new version of the west is, again, a good proposition. The main story, as well as its characters, and the actors of the cast, give a lot of play. The script has been drafted by Richard Wenk and Nic Pizzolatto, creator of the well-known series "True Detective".
As for the the soundtrack of the film, the composer of some of the best soundtracks in the entire recent film scene, James Horner, passed away in July of last year. However, the director of this new installment of "The Magnificent Seven", Antoine Fuqua, revealed a few months ago that Horner left him and all of us, before he died, a wonderful surprise. The great composer had secretly composed, following the script, the soundtrack for this remake.
Any of the Cast members already worked under Antoine Fuqua. For example, Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington who already worked with the filmmaker on Training Day. He also repeats Bennet, who was already directed by Fuqua in The Equalizer.
For its part, D'Onofrio will play the villain of the film, while Bennet will be the one who hires the seven gunmen to protect his town.
