The director of Motorcycle Diaries sponsored Europe Day at the Cannes Film Festival and there he referred to the news of the seventh art. «Cinema is an ability to imagine another world, a possible world, because it tells you who you are and where you are going, so that, in a world in transformation, it has an even more determining role. Cinema can help a country to get to know itself and also to imagine itself, and if we do not imagine what we can achieve, we will not achieve it, ”he stressed.
The director of "Central Station of Brazil" (1998) was today the special guest at the day of debates organized by the European Commissioner for the Information and Media Society, Viviane Reding, and the president of the Cannes Film Festival, Gilles Jacob.
