«Vampir-cuadecuc», the other dark knight

The premiere of the week is without a doubt "The dark knight", posthumous interpretation of Heath Ledger included. It looks like it is going to sweep the screen by the end of summer, as it has done in all the countries where it has been released.

However, this weekend another "dark Knight«, Another gothic work, also cursed, but which will surely go quite unnoticed by the general public. Is about "Vampir-Cuadecuc", a work by the filmmaker Peter Portabella, presented 37 years ago in Cannes , and premiered 36 years ago in New York Museum of Modern Art.

He did not arrive in Spain because of the censorship of General Franco. But since it is never too late if happiness is good, the film finally sees the light of day in Spain, although it is more late than a Talgo train in the 60s. Vampir-Cuadecuc is a "Journey into Dracula", a kind of documentary and "So it was done" of the "Dracula" by Jesús Franco.

According to the director himself, the work is a «Reflection on language cinemamatographic ». A real rarity, dark, that almost certainly will not enter the top ten of the most viewed movies. Of course, as a curiosity, we will have to go see it.
