Trailer of 'Silence', the return of Martin Scorsese

Paramount Pictures has already released the first trailer for the new Martin Scorsese movie. The filmmaker has not been on the front page of the movie scene since "The Wolf of Wall Street" in 2013.

The film is based on the novel 'Silence' by Shushaku Endo, who is among the most influential writers of the XNUMXth century.

As for the plot, the story is integrated in the second half of the seventeenth century. There, two young Jesuits travel to Japan in search of a missionary who, after being persecuted and tortured, has renounced his faith.

Both protagonists they will experience the torture and violence with which the Japanese received the Christians.

As soon as to the cast, It consists of Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Tadanobu Asano, Liam Nelson, Issey Ogata, Yoshi Oida and Ciarán Hinds. The film arrives in Spain on January 5, although the official premiere is on December 23.

The film is advertised as a religious drama.

It is an adaptation of Shusaku Endo's novel of the same name about the odyssey of two young Jesuit missionaries (Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield). They will go in search of their teacher (Liam Neeson), who apparently renounced the faith.

The impressive photography of the film is in charge of the Mexican Rodrigo Prieto (The wolf of Wall Street).

Premiere at the Vatican

It seems that the film's premiere will include the Vatican, in the presence of one's own Martin Scorsese before numerous Jesuits. There are doubts about whether Pope Francis himself (who is also a Jesuit) will be present at the screening.

The film is based on historical events, on the historical figure of the missionary Giuseppe Chiara, and recounts the adventure of a Brazilian Jesuit.

The missionary came to Japan in the seventeenth century on a mission to try to introduce Christianity to the country.

Once in the Japanese country, tI have to face the persecution that Christians experience, who were forced to live underground until the Shimabara Rebellion.
