"Doentes" is a story of the defeated that takes place in a single night in Santiago de Compostela in the 50s, against the background of repression and the consequences of the Civil War.
The whole plot is triggered by the transformation of the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos de Santiago, current Parador, which it left during the Franco regime from being a hospital to become a luxury hotel, which led to the eviction of the sick. In the film, two of them, a former priest and a consumptive, united by two dark pasts, wander the night before Francisco Franco's visit.
