All countries are choosing their candidate film for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, such as Spain with The Victory Dance or Argentina with The Secret in Their Eyes, and Italy has chosen the latest film from director Giuseppe Tornatore, winner already an Oscar for Cinema Paradiso.
The film in question is titled Baaria and the director has used the director's own memories: «It is a return to innocence that I lost the day I got off the ship from Sicily. For more than twenty years, I have been thinking about making a film about that season of my life in which my universe passed in those streets that occupied only a few hundred meters but in which I learned everything that the world will never be able to teach me » .
The film Baaria stars two unknown actors Francesco Scianna and Margareth Madé. In addition, the Spanish Angela Molina also appears in the cast.
This film will be released in Spain next year with no date to be determined.
