This weekend it has been released, although surely with few copies, the Spanish comedy "Esperpentos", directed by José Luis García, and starring Juan Diego and Juan Luis Galiardo.
La synopsis from the movie Esperpentos is:
Don Manolito and Don Estrafalario, Valleinclanescos (or Barojianos, or Unamunianos) characters, spend the last years of the Primo de Rivera dictatorship following the tracks of the theatrical pieces written by their admired Ramón del Valle Inclán and prohibited by government order. a reading of The Galas of the Dead, a portrait of the deranged little soldiers who returned from losing the Colony. Once again they manage to enter a town fair booth and witness one of the few theatrical performances in Valle-Inclán: Don Friolera's horns, the cruel story of the defense of the barracks honor. And they are even lucky enough to attend the filming of the first Valleinclanesco film: The Captain's Daughter, a humorous document on the relations between the military Administration and the defense of the Homeland. All this while waiting for the best premiere everyone dreamed of: that of the Second Spanish Republic. Drama that also -ay- lasted a short time on the bill. But it was a beautiful dream. Like Don Ramón's absurdities.
