Awarded in the Berlin Festival and in the latest edition of BAFICI, this dramatic film directed by Maren Ade.
Second foray into Ade's cinema after the event that resulted The Forest for the Trees, Between Us focuses the tension on the intimate and daily life of Chris and Gitti, a couple in a frank marital crisis vacationing on the island of Sardinia. The two love each other without reservation, but under that sincere feeling they hide insecurities, doubts and uncertainties that undermine the future of the couple. The event that ends up unleashing the conflict is the meeting with a friend partner, with whom they will inevitably compare themselves and try to emulate them, an attitude that will not bring the best results.
The cast includes the performances by Birgit Minichmayr, Lars Eidinger, Nicole Marischka, Hans-Jochen Wagner and Paula Hartman, which are enhanced thanks to the great work that Ade performs in the acting direction.
