Next Friday the European co-production opens "Lourdes" (Austria, France and Germany) that has gone through various festivals.
The film, directed by Jessica Hausner, is about a woman, Christine, who has spent most of her life confined to a wheelchair. To escape your isolation, set out on a trip to Lourdes, the legendary pilgrimage site in the heart of the Pyrenees. One morning, she wakes up apparently healed by a miracle. The head of the group of pilgrims, a seductive volunteer of the Order of Malta, begins to take an interest in her, who tries to take advantage of this new opportunity to be happy, while her healing arouses envy and admiration among the other members of the group.
