Actress Hilary Swank or does a movie truño or does a great job and takes home an Oscar (he already has two despite his youth) but with "Conviction", a typical after-dinner melodrama, I think he has done another trick again.
The film is based on true events: Kenny Waters (Sam Rockwell) is charged with first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. His sister, Betty Ann Waters (Hilary Swank), a divorced waitress and mother of two children, trusts in the innocence that her brother declares and decides to help him by taking out his law degree and becoming his lawyer. After 18 years of hardship, he will be able to prove that he is innocent.
The film "Conviction", directed by Tony Goldwyn and starring Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) and Sam Rockwell (Moon) will participate in the next London Film Festival that takes place between October 13 and 28.
