Douglas Quaid goes to the Rekall company for a mental journey with which he can escape for a few moments from his frustrating life; the actual memory of a life as a spy may be exactly what you need. When his procedure fails, Quaid becomes the most wanted man. Forced to flee from the police - controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen - Quaid cannot trust anyone except possibly a member of the rebels who works for the head of the resistance. The line between fantasy and reality is blurred and the fate of your world is hanging by a thread when Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true destiny.

This is the synopsis of the new version of 'Total Challenge', whose first installment starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, being one of the most remembered and blockbuster titles of the 90s. While Schwarzenegger and Stone turned their version into one of the films science fiction of those who make history, the current protagonists, Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale, there is little they can do to carry the terrible script with dignity that Kurt Wimmer has prepared.

'Total challenge' is one more confirmation of the little imagination that lately reigns in Hollywood where there are more and more directors lacking in new ideas dedicate themselves to filming remakes of old hits and as usually happens in most cases 'Total Challenge' also incurs disappointment if we compare it with the original film.

In front of the original script of the 1990 version, we find a script that tries to imitate without grace the one where some characters have disappeared, others have been added and the most ridiculous, some have even merged. The worst thing is not the changes that the script has made with the characters, but the final result, presents us with some flat characters, with whom some good actors and actresses of the cast have been able to do little. This is the case of recently ambassador of the Olympic Games, Colin Farrell, who despite his extensive career has been able to do little to defend such a role. To make matters worse, the special effects that are good, happen in such a way that they do not make sense and dislodge the viewer.
