The inseparable couple Tom and Jerry, will have a new film version, as revealed by the magazine dedicated to the show Variety. The published note ensures that the studies Warner Bros., home of the famous cat and mouse, has commissioned the script to be written by Eric Gravin, screenwriter without much experience in the medium.

The film would be released in theaters combining animation with GCI technology, computer generated. With the use of these effects, the idea is to capture the characters created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, as narrowly as possible, as seen in the movies of 'Alvin and the Chipmunks', 'Scooby-Doo' or 'Garfield', which also come from the cartoon.

The story will narrate the encounter between Tom and Jerry, and how they become bitter enemies, initiating an endless series of comic adventures. As is common in these cases, there is already talk that if the feature film is successful, this could be the first of a saga.

Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse were born in 1940 by the hand of the cartoonist Joseph Barbera and his partner William Hanna, and have starred in a total of 114 short films and a feature film brought to the big screen, directed by Phil Roman and released in 1992.
