Three Spanish films to fight for the Golden Globe

Broken Embraces

Spanish cinema is in luck. If in recent months, it has conquered the box office in Spain, now it is also rewarded abroad, specifically in the USA, where three Spanish films are in the shortlist of the 69 best foreign films candidates to be placed among the five finalists to be taken the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.

The three candidate Spanish films are Los Abrazos rotos, by Pedro Almodóvar; El baile de la victoria, by Fernando Trueba and Cell 211, by Daniel Monzón.

In addition, to these three we should also add the film El Secreto de sus ojos, directed by Juan José Campanella, as it is a co-production between Argentina and Spain.

Of the three Spanish films, the great favorite is Los Embraces rotos by Pedro Almodóvar since it has garnered rave reviews in the USA.

On December 15 we will know who the finalist films are.
