The creator of the Hellboy comic has confessed in a recent interview that he would love Guillermo del Toro to do a third part of «Hellboy»But he does not believe that he will do it because he has a thousand projects in the portfolio before this one:
“The last I heard was that he said he wouldn't do it. Guillermo, in each interview he does a new story about what his next film will be and he honestly believes that he is going to do all these things, but the last thing he said to me was: 'I'm never going to go back to Hellboy', which I don't It surprises me because he is not going to live long enough to make a tenth of the movies that he has told me he is going to do. I can't imagine making a 'Hellboy 3'. He's very enthusiastic and says he's going to do all these things… ummm… that's fine.
I'm particularly saddened by this news because even though the two "Hellboy" movies weren't very good, they did have an atmosphere and characters that I loved. So I hope that Guillermo del Toro will find time somewhere and make "Hellboy 3" to satisfy his fans.
