When a film is successful worldwide, it takes Americans little time to prepare a sequel, if possible, and if not a prequel. The point is to continue fattening the goose that lays the golden eggs.
Thus, the new version of the adventures of Sherlock HolmesAlthough it has not swept the box office worldwide, it has had good figures so its producers are already thinking about a sequel.
Furthermore, Jude Law's comments confirm it:
“We had such a great time filming that movie. We did very well, and we are aware that there is a lot of material that we can continue to use. Conan Doyle wrote about 15 books, and there is so much we could take. Because of our enthusiasm for the project, once we saw that we were doing well at the box office, we all started brainstorming where we could go or what might happen next. I think we will most likely do another. Of course I'm not stating it… it's not that we're going to film next week but I think it's something that we could start planning this year ”.
