The singer confessed in the radio interview: «In 2013 I told my colleagues that I was eager to get the thorn out of working on a solo album, and that I felt that this was the right time (…). After six months of composing, unfortunately my drug addiction problem reappeared with the anxiety of completing this solo project. 2014 was a really terrible year for me, despite the birth of my daughter. After going through all that odyssey, the day came that I told myself that I should change my way of thinking, otherwise this was going to end me and miraculously it did. Many good things have happened have happened in my life since then ».

Chaplin described this new album, 'The Wave', as "The transition from the darkest corners of the human experience to the place of resolution, fulfillment and happiness".

Recorded in studios in Los Angeles and London, 'The Wave' has been entirely composed by Chaplin with the collaboration of Matthew "Matt" Hales, better known as Aqualung, in production. 'The Wave' is made up of eleven unreleased songs (five bonus tracks included in the deluxe version) and It will be officially released on October 14.
