Toshihiro Tokumaruexecutive of Capcom's Investor Relations announced the film adaptation of the popular video game Lost Planet. It is already known that the project is underway and the studio responsible for the film transposition will be Warner Bros.

The film is in pre-production stage and an estimated budget between 150 and 200 million dollars, making it clear that the special effects will be of the latest generation.

About such a high budget, Toshihiro Tokumaru Clarified that "Our sales success with the video game is what allows us to try something so ambitious." And he continued by assuring that «When Capcom's filmmakers create a video game, they think of everything from the main characters to the development site, making it easier to bring it to the big screen. In making a video game, we consider the main character's upbringing, interpersonal relationships, and their place in time. The downside is that in the game we can only show a cross section of that. By showing that part on the movie screen, we can add substance to that world and expand it.»

The production team will be in charge of Avi Arad (Spider-Man) and Steven Paul (Ghost Rider) through Seaside entertainment. The script will be the work of david hayter, long-awaited writer Watchmen.
