The rockumental of Los Violadores

Rapists

The Argentine group, pioneer of punk rock in the country, already has its own documentary, entitled They are ... The Rapists.

The film, directed by John Riggirozzi, review the group history through an incredible amount of footage, which ranges from old testimonies of Pil Trafa (singer and leader of the Violadores) and other members, to images of the 28 years of the band's life.

Riggiorizzi, habitual director of the video clips, explains how the idea of making the documentary came about: «History interested me and along the way I discovered a large universe. I really like punk and, therefore, I really like Los Violadores. I have listened to them since I was skateboarding in Villa Luro at the age of 12 ».

Pil Trafa recognizes the instability of Los Violadores throughout all these years, with their comings and goings, and the constant changes in the line-up, but clarifies that the present cannot be better. Proof of this is the output of Rey o Reina, the latest album by Los Violadores, an explosive cocktail where criticism of the current Argentine government and the crisis of the capitalist system have their place assured.
