"The Pop Kids": First single from the new Pet Shop Boys

The Pop Kids is the first single from Super, the newest from Pet Shop Boys

'The Pop Kids', the first single from 'Super', the new album by British Pet Shop Boys, is now available on the usual streaming platforms. The download of 'The Pop Kids' will be free for all who pre-order 'Super' on iTunes, so those who still had doubts after listening to that preview that we met last January, 'The Inner Sactum', will be able to launch with peace of mind for this new album.

The physical edition of 'The Pop Kids' will include remixes, the B-side 'In Bits' and the revision of 'One-hit Wonder'

With 'the Pop Kids' Pet Shop Boys go on a trip to the 90s, remembering that time when the only thing that mattered to us was the music and the night. The "juernes"? Before it started on Wednesday. With such a remember moment, the production of the song manages to go according to the song. Although in the first listens it does not look like one of those PSB hits that we all know, the chorus hits you at once and the desire to dance comes to you as soon as you start the song.

It will be that I have so idealized Pet Shop Boys after so many years of career that I always expect much more from them. With 'The Inner Sactum' you were left wanting the catchy choruses of PSB and with 'The Pop Kids' you almost ended up waiting for that more excessive dance side of 'The Inner Sactum'. Solution? You listen to the two songs in a row. Let it be clear that this is far from being a destructive criticism. This is more for mere romanticism, missing those productions that sounded gigantic, like those of 'It's a sin' or 'Can You Forgive Her?', For example.

The physical edition of 'The Pop Kids' will go on sale until March 18, an edition that will include remixes by Stuart Price and Pet Shop Boys - one of the remixes includes an additional verse in which PSB «Bring to the present the history of Pop Kids». Also included are the B-side 'In Bits', produced by Stuart Price and the revision of the 1981 track 'One-hit Wonder'. 'Super' will go on sale on April 1. There's nothing left.
