With a script by Paolo Giordano and Saverio Costanzo, based on Giordano's own novel of the same name, comes 'The Solitude of Prime Numbers', a co-production between Italy, France and Germany. The film is also directed by Saverio Costanzo and stars: Alba Rohrwacher (Alice), Luca Marinelli (Mattia), Martina Albano (Alice as a child), Arianna Nastro (Alice as a teenager), Tommaso Neri (Mattia as a child), Vittorio Lomartire (Mattia as a teenager) and Isabella Rossellini ( Adele), among others.

The protagonist of the film, Alba Rohrwacher, is likely to be remembered by many for her role in 'Il papà di Giovanna', since it is one of her best works, which not in vain made her become the winner of the 2009 Best Actress award from 'The Italian Film Academy'. In 'The loneliness of prime numbers' he takes an interpretive turn and gets into the skin of Alice, who together with Mattia have suffered tragedies that have marked them since childhood: a ski accident in Alice's case, which has caused a defect in her leg; and, in Mattia's case, the loss of her twin sister.

When they are in the hallways of the institute as teenagers, each of them recognizes their own pain in the other. As they grow up their destinies intertwine in a special friendship, until Mattia, after obtaining a PhD in Physics, decides to accept a job abroad. The two will have to separate for many years until a series of events will bring them together again, causing hidden emotions to surface.

The truth is that it has been several years since its filming (2010), but finally, 'The loneliness of prime numbers' has reached our screens, and it has been worth the wait, to enjoy this faithful adaptation to the novel that inspires it. The film has very good scenes and a soundtrack that at times startles you, we think intentionally. And all this together offers a film with a different and peculiar story, which is well worth seeing.
