'The cloud atlas', an unconventional pharaonic proposal

Tom Hanks in The Atlas of Clouds

Tom Hanks stars in 'The Atlas of the Clouds'.

After months of waiting, we have finally been able to see 'The cloud atlas', a science fiction film that tells six independent stories that take place over 500 years, but whose protagonists repeatedly face situations where they are affected by the different decisions they have made about each other. The film is based on the novel by David Mitchell and directed by a luxury team formed by the Wachowsky brothers (Matrix Saga) and Tom Tykwer.

The Pharaonic proposal has a duration of 172 minutes, through which we enjoy the many roles played by the cast headed by Tom Hanks y Halle Berry that are seconded by personalities like Hugo Weaving, Hugh Grant, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, Jim Sturgess and Susan Sarandon, among others.

"The cloud atlas" explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact each other through the past, present and future. Action, mystery and romance are dramatically woven through the story as a soul goes from murderer to hero, and a simple act of mercy spreads through the centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. Each cast member appears in multiple roles as the story unfolds over time.

Without a doubt, a whole pharaonic proposal, as we have already said, in which the Wachowski brothers and Tom Tykwer address the interconnections that make the world work. An epic that unfolds over the centuries that will probably not be liked by many due to its length or its complexity, but which will make many others enjoy, as it contains truly gratifying fragments. Not recommended for viewers who are friends with the conventional.
