Sting says he was inspired by David Bowie for his new album

Sting's XNUMXth solo job is coming, It will be published throughout the next fall month and will be called “57th & 9th”. A well-known singer has said that the album is inspired, among others, by the "immortal" David Bowie.

The new album has connotations of the crossroads of New York for Sting himself. In fact, it has been recorded right there, over 4 months.

In one of the songs on the new album, «50.000», it is done reference to the death of different rock stars, such as David Bowie. In Sting's own words: "David Bowie left first, and then Lemmy, and then my friend Alan Rickman died, and then Prince. It seemed that one was taking down another. It was a strange moment because you think that these people are immortal, but suddenly they are like the rest of us, they die ”.

On choosing New York as the "crossroads" referred to on the new album, Sting states “I think a lot as I move and it is an inspiring city to live in. The pedestrians, the traffic, the noise, the architecture… The scale of New York is very stimulating for the mind. The walks are a very important part of the process ”.

The advance of this album, the single 'I Can't Stop Thinking About You', premieres tomorrow, September 1. Let's remember that '57th and 9th' will be Sting's first album since 2013, when he released 'The Last Ship'.
