The crossover of statements by Marvel and the representative of Edward Norton is running like wildfire through the network. I remind you that the mess comes because heMarvel has decided to leave out the actor from the movie «The Avengers» and everything suggests that it has been for money reasons.

These statements by Kevin Feige seem offensive to me and they are also not true. What actually happened was this: Kevin called me two months ago and said they wanted to have Edward reprise his role as Bruce Banner in 'The Avengers'. He told me that it would be great for Edward to join in with the rest of the cast. When I told him that Edward was delighted with the idea, Kevin was excited and we arranged for Edward to meet with Joss Whedon to discuss the project. Edward and Joss had a fruitful reunion, so much so that Edward told me he was excited to be part of the cast. Later Marvel made us a financial offer, and both parties seemed to have it clear. But last Wednesday, after several weeks of negotiations, a Marvel representative called to tell us that they had changed their minds and had decided to look in another direction. For us it is an economic decision, but in any case, we have to accept your decision. We know that many fans are disappointed with the decision, but this does not seem to have mattered to Feige. Edward was delighted with the opportunity to work with Joss and some of the cast that he considers friends. Feige has been unprofessional, has been false and has clearly defamed.
