Montevideo is revolutionized: several stars from Hollywood arrived in the Uruguayan capital to film the film "Blindness", directed by Fernando Meirelles ("City of God") and based on 'Essay on blindness', the book by the Portuguese and Nobel Prize winner for Literature José Saramago.
The protagonists who stepped on Uruguayan soil are Julianne Moore (photo), Mark Ruffalo and Danny Glover, who are the visible heads of the film that has a budget of 20 million dollars and also has the performances of Gael García Bernal and Alicia Braga. "Blindness" will be filmed in Montevideo, São Paulo and Toronto.
The story centers on an epidemic of blindness that spreads through the city and that will affect all the characters, except the doctor's wife (Ruffalo), who will be played by Julianne Moore. The script was adapted by Canadian Don McKellar and his premiere for next year.
