The Star Wars saga, the best known in film history belongs to a genre that we could call epic space opera. The initial idea belongs to George Lucas, and although the first deliveries were marketed under the seal of LucasFilm, as of 2012 are produced and distributed by The Walt Disney company.
This cinematographic saga has been deriving in other means of expression and advertising, such as novels, video games, television series, role-playing games, comics, etc. It's about the so-called "Expanded universe", from which the material of the saga has been distributed.
Star Wars. Episode IV: A New Hope, 1977
When the princess Leia, leader of the galactic rebel movement, fighting for the reinstatement of the Republic, is captured by the Imperial Forces, at whose command is the dark Darth Vader, the right hand of the emperor.
The new hope is set on young Luke Skywalker, who, aided by HanSolo, Captain of the spaceship "The Millennium Falcon", and the androids, R2D2 and C3PO, will try to rescue the princess and restore order and justice in the galaxy.
The movie took seven Oscars, including art direction, original soundtrack, sound, editing, costumes, sound effects, and visual effects.
Star Wars. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980
After the Imperial troops attack the rebel resistance bases, the young man Luke Skywalker, in the company of R2D2, travels to the planet Dagobah in search of Yoda, the last Jedi master, to teach you the secrets of the Force.
In turn, the captain of the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo, accompanied by Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and C3PO dodge the Imperial forces and seek refuge from the former owner of the Millennium Falcon, Lando Calrissian. The second installment got two Oscars, for the best sound and the best special effects. A wonderful tale of galactic stories, which we will never tire of reviewing.
Star Wars. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, 1983
Han Solo was a prisoner in the previous episode. To set it free Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia have to infiltrate Jabba the Hutt's dangerous lair, the fattest and most feared gangster in the galaxy.
When looking for allies, the team of the Rebel Alliance turns to the Ewoks, a tribe of inhabitants of small size, but of great nobility. While that happens, the Emperor and Darth Vader have decided to lure Luke to the dark side, but the young Jedi remains unchanged, for his spirit of justice and the wisdom he learned from Master Ioda.
Everything indicates that a new galactic civil war Is in sight.
Star Wars. Episode I: The Phantom Menace, 1999
The planet Naboo, ruled by young queen amidala, has been blocked by the wicked Sith Darth Sidious. The Jedi Knights, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, convince the Queen to travel to the Republic's capital, Coruscant, to bring peace. Nevertheless, the ship in which Amidala travels is forced to land on an unknown, remote and dangerous planet: Tatooine.
