This year Ron Howard makes a strong comeback for awards season with the idea of sneaking into the Oscars with his new film 'In the heart of the sea' ('In the Heart of the Sea').
The film stars Chris Hemsworth, the Thor of the Avengers, Tom Holland, which we discover in the film 'The Impossible' by the Spanish Juan Antonio Rayona, Cillian Murphy, which we have seen in films like 'The Dark Knight', Brendan Gleeson, star of films like 'Calvary' or 'The Grand Seduction' and the Spanish Jordi Mollà.
'In the heart of the sea' is inspired by the same true story that was based on his day Herman Melville for his celebrated novel 'Moby Dick', that of Owen Chase and the rest of the crew of the Essex, a ship that in the winter of 1820 collided with a huge white whale, which brought the sailors to harsh conditions. Owen Chase became obsessed with the cetacean and the idea of hunting it led him and his men to face storms, hunger and despair.
The film was due to hit theaters months ago, but was delayed to coincide with its premiere with the awards season with the idea that it would have an Oscar option. Finally its premiere will be on December 4, 2015.
