Spawn returns to the movies

In 1997, the character created by Canadian cartoonist Todd McFarlane he finally jumped from paper to screen, in a somewhat unsuccessful movie made just for fans.

Now McFarlane himself sets out to rescue the dark superhero with a new independent film from the one produced by New Line. The interest of its creator lies in the fact that, since its appearance in 1992, the Spawn comic maintained a certain level of sales, which could be increased with a new adventure in the cinema.

The comic was born from the hand of Image Comics, the publisher that McFarlane founded, and even today it continues to be published and opening new sagas. The validity of the comic allowed its author to write a new movie script, with a story that "It has been in my head for the last 7 or 8 years", McFarlane confessed. The intention is that "Not a summary or a continuation, but a totally new and independent story, aimed at a more adult audience" He added.

Hopefully the results are much better than the 1997 film of the same name, starring Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo and Martin Sheen.
