Last January we told you about the reissue of the LP 'Sparkle in the Rain' by Simple Minds under the Universal Music label, a remastered and expanded reissue. 'Sparkle in the Rain' was the sixth album by Simple Minds and was released in 1984. This reissue has finally been released and you can find it in all kinds of versions: A box of four CDs plus a DVD, Single CD, Deluxe Double CD, Vinyl, Blu-ray and Digital Download.
The press release of Universal Music gave all luxury of details about this launch: Disc One is a remastering of the original album at Abbey Road Studios by Andrew Walters and supervised by Charlie Burchill. Disc two contains B sides, some released on CD for the first time. Disc three features an unreleased concert recorded in Barrowland, in the band's hometown, on February 28, 1984. The concert continues on disc four, completing the disc with three songs in sessions for BBC Radio 1 on September 1983. The DVD contains a 5.1 surround sound mix made from the multi-track master tapes, by musician / producer Steven Wilson (four-time Grammy nominee). The album is completed with the original videos, Top Of The Pops and Oxford Road Show performances of 'Waterfront', 'Speed Your Love To Me' and 'Up On The Catwalk' ».
