Sonic Youth, one of the most influential American alternative rock bands of the last decades, announced the upcoming reissue of all their record material prior to their time at Geffen Records. Despite the fact that the New York band has been paralyzed since the separation of Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore after 27 years of marriage in 2011, the followers of Sonic Youth will be able to enjoy in the coming months the reissue of their first albums, which will be released both on CD and on vinyl.
The first album to be reissued will be the consecrated one 'Daydream Nation' 1988, which will go on sale next June 10, along with the original 'The Whitey Album', the only record production signed under 'Ciccone Youth', the group's side project in collaboration with Mike Watt, a member of the Firehose group.
The edition of these two albums will be made by the labels Revolver / Midheaven and later they will be preceded by reissues of their first albums, which include 'Confusion is Sex' (1983), 'Bad Moon Rising' (1985), 'EVOL' (1986) and 'Sister' (1987). It was also announced that a DVD reissue of 'Screaming Fields of Sonic Love', a compilation of the band's music videos originally released in 1995, will be included.
