'Sonic highways'contains songs written in different cities in the United States where they will show the breadth of American music. The documentary was already released by HBO on October 17 and it was Dave Grohl himself who has produced and directed this eight-chapter miniseries that documents the recording process of his latest album. The eight songs on the album have been recorded in eight studios in eight different cities in the United States. The album was produced by Butch Vig and the eight songs were each recorded in a city in the United States: Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington, DC.5 The alternate covers show each one. of the eight different cities.
Some of the figures that will participate in the miniseries are MacKaye, Dolly Parton, LL Cool J, Willie Nelson, Pharrell, Ben Gibbard and even President Obama himself, among others.
