The new film by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury «Aux yeux des vivants»Has caused quite a stir in the 47th edition of the Sitges Festival.
Some have highlighted the good work of the French filmmakers, while others have squandered the film.
To say that "Aux yeux des vivants" is the worst film of its directors is not saying much, since the debut of both "To l'interieur»Is little less than a modern classic of horror cinema and and the second work of Bustillo and Maury«Livid»Was quite correct.
It's probably true that this new film from the filmmakers is the weakest, but that's why it just turned out bad.
This time Alexander Bustillo y Julien Maury They wanted to pay tribute to the genre cinema of the 80s and as such it works quite well, although perhaps their fans were looking for something more.
The film tells the story of three boys, three little hooligans, who after their last day of class go to an abandoned movie studio to do their thing. There they will come across a strange beast that will stalk them and their family.
"Aux yeux des vivants" comes into play at once. Before even seeing the title of the movie on the screen, we have already seen a good dose of violence more than gratuitous.
Without a doubt, the French filmmakers have tables, keep the tension during the first hour, without adding anything new to the genre, but working very well with what we have already seen a thousand times.
Too bad a inconsistent ending, very exaggerated and finished very quickly, spoil all the previous work.
