Sitges 2014: Review of "Under the Skin" by Jonathan Glazer

U

Like anyone who has been able to enjoy «U"I'm not going to recommend it for the sake of the movie itself.

The new job of jonathan glazer Either you hate it or you love it, and although I prefer the latter more, I am aware that the film is not for any audience, and it is understandable.

"Under the Skin" is a film purely contemplative and that is not to the liking of most viewers, although that neither gives nor takes away from the quality of this film, which arrives ready to show the best and worst of the society in which we live through the point of view of a alien.

A film totally dramatized in which I will not go into assessing the performance of an expressionless Scarlett Johansson from whom history did not ask for more, the actress simply lives up to what the play demands, which is neither too much nor too little, simply different.

Someone pointed out his resemblance to Stanley Kubrick's film "2001: A Space Odyssey«, I suppose that referring to the type of narration, I would not say so much, although many can find similarities, especially those who are not fans of one or the other.

There is plenty of room to discuss "Under the Skin", a film that is destined to be a cult work from its first screening. Fans and detractors and very few who stay in the middle.

Rating: 8 / 10
