Veteran Actor Robert de Niro will be the president of the jury of the next Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from May 11 to 22, 2011.
Robert de Niro, when the news was published, commented to the press:
«As a co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival and the Doha Film Festival I have a greater appreciation of the jury, I know what they are for, they play an important role in the choice of films that are presented in the world of cinema in its highest level, and these types of festivals help connect the international film community and have a lasting cultural impact. '
De Niro adds. «Having served as President of the Jury twice in the eighties, I know that this is not an easy task for me or my fellow jurors, but I am very honored and happy to be the president of the jury for the Festival of Cannes this year ».
