The Venice Festival has had the honor of having the presentation of the third and definitive new version of Blade Runner25 years after Venice saw the world premiere of the original film in the front row.
Ridley Scott began working on this project in 2000, his obsession with the film is well known Blade Runner, based on the novel by Philip K. Dick Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and the work he has done over the years, will bring us several novelties that fans will undoubtedly be eager to enjoy. These news are as follows:
- Image and sound restoration
- Deleting the narrator in off
- Magnification with never-before-seen scenes
- Elimination of the "happy ending" that had been imposed on the production of the first film
The new great work is waiting, but it is getting closer and closer to us. Blade Runner, the Final Cut, which will be so titled, will be available on DVD in the United States next December, and finally in January 2008 it will be distributed to the rest of the world.
