Ray Harryhausen passes away

Fiction film lovers have the great Ray Harryhausen as a benchmark in relation to special effects, who made us enjoy his great work in a lot of movies like My great friend joe, Wrath of the Titans o Jason and the Argonauts.

Harryhausen, inventor of the stop-motion technique, has passed away at the age of 92 and leaves behind a lot of films and a great influence for the fantasy and science fiction genre that we all remember fondly.

He was the winner of an honorary Oscar in 1992 and also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and according to some of the most influential personalities in the world of cinema, many of today's films would not have seen the light if they had not it is for your inspiration.

George Lucas assured that without Harryhausen the Star Wars saga probably would not have been born; Nor would The Lord of the Rings have been made, at least for him, as stated by Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg declared that Ray and his inspiration go with us forever. Rest in peace Ray.
