Today I bring the trailer for Proyecto Lázaro, an interesting science fiction film directed and scripted by Mateo Gil. With Spanish and French production, it transports us to a future in which people are beginning to wake up from cryonics.
In the cast we have Tom Hughes, Oona Chaplin, Charlotte Le Bon and Barry Ward. As I have commented before, the script and direction is by Matthew Gil.
For the clueless, Mateo Gil is responsible for things like Nobody Knows Anyone, a thriller set in Holy Week in Seville. He is also a regular contributor to Amenabar. He has collaborated on the scripts for Thesis, Abre los ojos, Marína and Ágora. Almost nothing we go.
Here's the synopsis:
Marc Jarvis (Tom Hughes), a successful and ambitious young man, suffers a terrible shock when he is predicted less than a year of life due to an incurable disease. Unable to accept his death, he decides to cryonize his body. The love of his life, Naomi (Oona Chaplin), will become his great support, despite initially disagreeing.
Seventy years later, in 2085, at the Prodigy Health Corporation facilities, Marc will become the first man in history to be resurrected after crying out. But his resurrection will not take place in the idyllic way that Marc had imagined before he died.
Project Lázaro has a release date in our country on January 13, 2017. We will be waiting for a slightly longer trailer to appear.
