The Austrian director michael sturminger will be present in the official section of the San Sebastian Festival with his new film, "The Casanova Variations."
A decade after his greatest success, the Viennese filmmaker will be in the Donostia competition fighting to win the prized Golden Shell.
In 2004 his film «The Whore's Son"(" Hurensohn ") was awarded at the Brussels European Film Festival, the Max Ophüls Festival and the Schwerin Art of Film Festival. Now Michael Sturminger will attend a category A competition for the first time.
«The Casanova Variations»Tells the story of the myth of the one who was the greatest seducer of all time, Casanova. The story is told both through fiction and with theatrical performances that reveal the story of his adventures, passions and, above all, his fear of death. Based on "The story of my life" by Giacomo Casanova, with arias by WA Mozart and Lorenzo da Ponte.
They star in the film John Malkovich, soon in «César Chávez» by Diego Luna, Veronica ferres, who already shared a cast with Malkovich in the telefilm «Les miserables» («Les misérables») and in «Klimt», Victoria War, recently seen with John Malkovich in "Wellington's Lines" ("Wellington's Lines") and debutants in the feature film Florian boesch y Miah Persson.
