The Mexican director David Pablos will be present in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes film festival with his film «The chosen ones».

It is the third feature film by its director, the second fiction and is produced by Canana Films, a label founded by the actors and directors Diego Luna, who also stars in the film and Available García Bernal.

«The chosen ones»This is the only representation of Spanish-speaking cinema in one of the main sections of the Cannes Film Festival and will seek to take over from Kornél Mundruczo's« White God », a film that won the award for best film in the Un section Certain Regard in 2014. In 2013 this award went to another Mexican film, Diego Quemada-Díez's “La caula de oro”, as in 2012 when it won the award “After Lucía” by Michel Franco.

This new film by David pablos, after the documentary «A border all borders» and the film presented in Venice «Life afterwards», it revolves around child prostitution and is inspired by a book by Jorge Volpi.
