Sainte-Gudule, northern France, 1977. Suzanne is a woman devoted to her home and her family, and subjected to the wealthy industrialist Robert Pujol.
Robert runs his umbrella factory with an iron fist and has an unpleasant and despotic demeanor both with the workers and with his children and with Suzanne, whom he considers only a vase woman.
After a strike and the kidnapping of her husband, she has to assume the management of the company and, to everyone's surprise, she reveals herself as an intelligent, capable and determined woman. But when Robert returns home, in top form after a rest cure, the situation becomes complicated ...
