Latest for Tom Cruise fans, 'Oblivion'is already on our screens. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, this fast-paced sci-fi film stars: Tom Cruise (Jack), Olga Kurylenko (Julie), Andrea Riseborough (Victory), Morgan Freeman (Beech), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Sykes), Melissa Leo (Sally) and Zoe Bell (Kara), among others. The script was written by Karl Gajdusek and Michael DeBruyn, who were based on a graphic novel by Joseph Kosinski.

"Oblivion" takes us to a future planet Earth that has evolved beyond recognition. There, a man faces the past and takes the path of redemption as he fights to save the human race. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is one of the last drone mechanics destined for Earth. It is part of a massive operation aimed at extracting vital resources after decades at war with the terrifying threat posed by the Scavs. But Jack's mission comes to an end. He roams and patrols the sky thousands of feet high until his "lofty" existence collapses when he rescues a precious stranger from a downed ship. His arrival sets in motion a series of events that will force Jack to question everything he knows and that will end up putting the fate of the human race in his hands.

It has been a long time since we enjoyed such a remarkable and surprising sci-fi proposal as 'Oblivion'. In addition, Cruise's latest has the virtue of distancing itself from the more conventional popcorn cinema, which has us accustomed to large productions (as far as budget is concerned), to dazzle us with its pirouettes and make us reflect.

The film that obviously does have action scenes, shootings, explosions and fireworks, is not overshadowed by all of them, nor are they the most remarkable factor of the film. Here the important thing is the essence of a futuristic fable that 'Oblivion' distills, narrated in a very powerful way, both on a technical and artistic level. We will find a 100% Cruise for which the years do not pass, and for which there is no more room than to congratulate him. Do not miss it.
