«1001 Grams»Is the film chosen by Norway for its representation in the category of best foreign language film of the Academy Awards this year.

This will be the third time that the director Bent hamer represent his country at the Academy Awards, previously he had done so with "Kitchen Stories" in 2004 and "O'Horten" in 2009 without getting the nomination on either occasion.

This new film by Bent Hamer has been chosen overcoming «Blind»By Eskil Vogt, a film that won four awards from the Norwegian Film Academy, including best film and the award for best screenplay in the World Cinema section of the Sundance Film Festival, and«Brev tulle Kongen"(" Letter to the King ") by Hisham Zaman, which won two other Academy Awards in his country, one of them for best screenplay.

Norway is thus looking to win its seventh Oscar nomination for best foreign language film and thus fight for the statuette that has resisted to date.

«1001 Grams»Tells the story of Marie, a scientist whose life will be transformed after attending a seminar in Paris on the current weight of the kilo. Disappointment, pain and, not least, love, will find its end on your scale of measurements.
